Kickstarters for journalism

The Nieman Foundation has recently reviewed journalism kickstarters and concluded that 2018 has been a year of evolution. While it is still lagging behind in comparison with other projects, with an approximate chance of only 1-in-5  of reaching its funding minimum, its believed that the projects that are rising are those with innovation and contrast to traditional media. It is evident that people want change and they are willing to pay as a way of demonstrating support.
